Pelleve: A Non-Invasive Way to Get Firmer Skin

Published on November 10, 2017

One of the most demanding areas of medicine is the treatment of signs of aging. As people grow older, they notice that their bodies are changing, sometimes rapidly. Some of these changes are caused by the deterioration of the quality of our skin, which is why they are the most apparent.

The first things people notice is the formation of fine lines and wrinkles like laugh lines and crow’s feet. These signs can appear as early as your late 20s. Besides wrinkles, you may also notice loose sagging skin.

Wrinkles and Fine Lines – The Causes

As people age, their most common complaint is how they have lost their youthful looks. Your youthful looks become a thing of the past as your face begins to develop more and more fine lines and wrinkles. The primary cause behind the formation of these unpleasant signs is that your skin is not as young as it used to be.

When you were younger, your skin was firm, soft, and supple. This was because your skin was rich in elastin and collagen. As you grow older, your skin becomes less able to create new elastin and collagen, causing it to become weaker and form wrinkles. Your body ages much faster than it can replenish elastin and collagen, which slowly results in more drooping skin.

Say Hello to Pelleve

Fortunately, cosmetic procedures have come a long way in the past few years, leading to the development of Pelleve. Pelleve is used to reverse the signs of aging on a patient’s neck and face. It tightens the skin by reducing laxity. This painless non-invasive treatment is the next step in anti-aging medicine and treatments.

This device produces radiofrequency waves that cause the treated skin to become tighter. These waves slowly heat the external and internal layers of the skin, causing the contraction of collagen fibers and stimulating tissues to create new collagen and elastic at a greater rate. This in turn makes the skin tighter.

How Is the Pelleve Treatment Conducted?

A clear gel is first applied to the areas that are to be treated. Pelleve is a painless procedure that involves the use of a wand-like device which transmits radiofrequency waves. The device has a smooth rounded tip that is passed over the treatment areas.

As it is passed over the skin, radiofrequency waves gently heat the surface of the treatment regions. These waves are transmitted from an electrode to a small plate at the end of the device. The temperature is brought to between 39 to 42 degrees celsius, which is optimum for the disruption of collagen fibers. The disruption causes the collagen to contract and new proteins to form, resulting in the skin surface becoming tighter and firmer.

The patient can feel their skin beginning to become warm from the radio waves. The tip of the device is passed over all treatment areas until a uniform result is achieved.

The results of the Pelleve treatment can be noticed almost immediately after the procedure has been conducted. The firmer and tighter skin gives a more youthful appearance while erasing fine lines and wrinkles.
